We get a lot of people who are curious about Indian Hair... so I copied the Indian Hair frequently asked questions from our website for our blog.
What is Remy Indian Hair?
Sometimes referred to as Cuticle Hair, Virgin Hair, and Raw Hair, remy hair is healthy, cuticle correct, unprocessed 100% human hair.
It is the highest quality human hair available. The high quality exists because the cuticles all lie in one direction. Virgin Hair has not been chemically processed in any way to manipulate the curl pattern or color. Please note there is no such thing as Virgin Deep Wave Hair or Virgin Body Wave Hair in Color 4. Our hair has whatever wave or curl pattern that it's donor had...so that it is the most realistic looking hair that can be colored and texturized to your liking. Remy hair is preserved and maintained from the moment it is cut from the donors head. Remy hair is tangle free and lasts longer than any other hair on the market today.
Where does Remy Hair come from? Our company imports virgin hair directly from India. We use virgin unprocessed Indian hair because it is known to be the best in the world for hair extensions.
Why buy Indian Remy Hair? Virgin Indian Remy hair is the best on the market. It is cut from a single donor and sewn in the same direction hair naturally grows (cuticle correct). Unlike other commercial hair, the hair cuticle is left intact just like nature intended it to be.
How long does Remy Hair last?
How long and how many times you reuse your Indian remy hair is a personal choice. However, our tests have shown that Indian Remy hair can last for up to 3 uses. That means it can be weaved and worn for 3 months, then taken down and reused one or two more times.
This hair definitely lasts longer than other non-remy products on the market.
Can I have my Indian Remy hair colored?
Absolutely, not only can you color this hair, it can be blown dry, permed, and flat ironed. This hair should be treated just like your own.
How much hair do I need to purchase? If you are getting a full head of extensions added, it is best to buy two packs to make sure you have enough. You can always use the leftover hair later. if you are using hair over 18" long you might need 3 packs. If you are adding only length, one pack is sufficient.
How do I care for my Indian Remy hair? You’ve just made a very important purchase, and the proper maintenance of your Indian Remy hair is critical to the longevity of the product. We recommend the following:
Do
1. Use a rich shampoo and conditioner made for dry hair
2. Comb and detangle hair before shampooing
3. Gently shampoo the hair in one direction only
4. Support your attachment (weft, braid or fusion) when brushing or combing your hair
5. Sleep with your hair tied up in a net, silk bonnet or scarf
Do Not
1. Sleep with your hair wet
2. Pile hair on top of your head to shampoo (this creates tangling)
3. Apply to much conditioner to the attachment
Many beauty supply shops sell human hair, what makes Luxury Indian hair better?
We offer only 100% natural remy human hair – nothing else is added to the hair. All cuticles are aligned in the same direction, which helps to prevent matting and tangling. Human hair is the best alternative because, not only does it look and feel natural… it is natural!
The majority of human hair sold in the industry is non-cuticle hair. The hair cuticle has been stripped by using an acid-bath and in many cases it has been commingled with animal hair, fabric and/or synthetic fibers. Non-remy hair is coated in silicon and after several washes, loses its luster and appeal. In addition, the hair may not have been aligned correctly, thus causing tangles, matting and shedding.
