So in starting this month's theme I told myself to stay away from the normal or cliche things people would normally come up with. But when inspiration hits, you go with it.
Most of you know that I am a dance teacher. I love it. I'm not terrible at it. But I am also a nanny. The family I nanny for has a baby. He is precious, of course. I am just not very good with babies. I'm awkward and I think my arms are too small to cradle them properly (remember I'm 4'8"), everyone always laughs when they see me trying to hold a baby, even if I'm really trying to look confident. Kids I can handle, babies... I can only try.
Anyways, Wednesday mornings I teach and need someone to cover my nannying job while I'm gone. Today, my wonderful mom covered for me (she's always so willing to serve and help others). When she got there, wow. I watched a true pro take over. She picked that baby boy right up, cradled him lovingly, talked baby talk, and had him smiling instantly... I can only HOPE that one day my short little body will figure out this baby thing and I can look just as natural.
It truly touched me to see how just being a mom (even if it's not your kid) and I've seen this before, can take care of any baby like it's their own- no problem. It just comes natural. Go moms!
So, thank you mom for being such a great example to me, not only today but every day. Love you!
