Most hairstylists insist that there are only few basic face shapes, such as the oval, the round, the square, the heart, the diamond, and the oblong. In fact, an individual’s face shape can not be easily categorized in the real world. Most of an individual has a combination face shapes. Most faces are combinations of two or more of these basic shapes. The shape of Angelina Jolie's face is a great example. As the shape of the face is the most fundamental feature that will determine the most flattering hairstyle, we should analysis one’s face shape before getting a chic hairstyle.

Then, what is Angelina Jolie's face shape? Let’s try to analysis her face shape and hairstyle. In the movies "Wanted" and "Changeling", it was able to bring out the best of her unique face shape. As her strong jaw line is so magnified, it seems that she has a square face. However, Angelina Jolie also has the classic features of a high forehead and high cheekbones. It also seems that she has an oval face shape. With the ratio of the length and width of her face, Angelina Jolie's face shape is a combination of oval and square.

Combined face shapes are tricky to style. Surely Angelina Jolie can manage her hairstyle well with unique face shape. Since the upper part of her face is dominantly oval, you may note that there are nothing covers her forehead, except for the occasional side-swept bang in Angelina Jolie's hairstyles. Besides, since the lower part of her face is dominantly square, you may note that most Angelina Jolie hairstyles have soft waves. The strictly oval faces can get away angular bobs and blunt bangs hairstyles. Angelina Jolie can not get away with bangs. This is why no Angelina Jolie hairstyle will include bangs that cover the entire forehead. It makes her face look wider, and the effect would be utterly appalling. The strictly square face can get away with boyish short cuts. Angelina Jolie's hairstyles should not follow suit.

In the movie “Changeling”, you can see the shortest Angelina Jolie hairstyle. The hairstyle is utterly feminine with its wild abundant curls. The curls, with their free movement, throws soft shadows on her square jaw line. The curls in Angelina Jolie hairstyles can soften the jaw line. Besides the curls, the two thick strands of hair falling in front of her left face can also divert our attention from her square jaw.

The shape of the face is the most fundamental feature that will determine the most flattering hairstyle. It is not the ears, eyes, or the lips to help a woman have the best hairstyle. This means that if a woman has prominent pouting lips, it does not automatically allow her to copy the Angelina Jolie hairstyle. As Angelina Jolie's hairstyle compliments face shapes that are combinations of oval and square, her hairstyles that absence of bangs accentuate the eyes and flaunt the best features of the forehead and cheeks. The curls and the longer hair lengths soften the square jaw line. Since the face belongs to Angelina Jolie, with the hairstyle, mysterious cat-like eyes, and the famous pouting lips, her confident and sexy look is prominent.

Tomorrow, I'm taking Kathleen to the market before she flies back to London. It has been lovely having one of my besties nearby again, I'll be sad to see her go. If you're traveling over the long weekend, I wish you a safe trip. Take care, me x

Surprise! Another fun giveaway for you! This time brought to you by lovely Australian ladies Pip and Emma who are inspired by "lazy afternoons and spy novels from the 1940s", most excellent. They produce charming handmade goods while "drinking home brew ginger beer and listening to tunes" (sounds dreamy and delicious). You can find more of their lovely creations in their Etsy Shop here

So in the same manner as my previous giveaway I'm asking for your stories! This time, for all my spring twitter-pated buddies, let's hear your comedic tales of romance! I want to hear stories about exploding bikini tops in front of your highschool crush (hehe Wray), interlocking braces, unfortunate poetry, etc. I'll take any funny story though! The story that successfully causes uncontrollable urination (or close to it, rather) will win the darling squirrel pendant! I'll announce the winner next friday (04/09/10)!

Good luck!

What I'm Loving Right Now

1. Vita Muffin VitaTops in Deep Chocolate. I looove these bad boys. They are only 100 calories and definitely give me my chocolate fix. Just thaw in the microwave and pop it in the toaster. For a yummy dessert add a small scoop of ice cream on top. Heaven! These also have 6 g Fiber, 3g protein, and they are whole grain.
2. My new Michael Kors shoes I bought in Dallas at Nordstrom. Most. Comfortable. Heels. Ever. I could run in these. They have a 4 in. heel with a 1/2 in hidden platform. They front is a stretchy material that really ups the comfort factor. They have these in all patent leather, but the front straps were digging into my skin so I went for the stretchy one's.

3. The sun! It's been shining for days now and I love it. Days like these make me want to live outside. Yesterday I was really wishing that the pool at our apartment complex was open so I could lay out.

What are ya'll currently loving? Hope everyone has had a great week. One more day left in the school/work week.

Reading and Mrs Marian Keyes

Hello! We've just begun a four-day long weekend here in South Africa! Tomorrow I'm going to sleep in and do as little as possible. Brilliant! Yesterday I said I was gonna start reading the new Marian Keyes. I was mistaken. I'm actually going to be reading 'Under the Duvet' which came out before the newly released 'The Brightest Star.' My mom has lent it to me and she's currently reading 'The Brightest Star' which she says is heeelarious. I must confess, this is actually the first Marian Keyes that I will be reading. I know, I know, I'm ten million years late to the party. For ages, people have told me to read her books and that I'll just adore them but for some reason, I just haven't got round to it. I'm actually quite rubbish when it comes to reading books. I haven't even read all that many in my life! But whenever I do read one, I always think, 'gosh this is so nice, I really must read more.' I found it alot easier to read in London when I had all that time to kill on the tube and train. So what do I like to read? Well, I like a good chuckle, something uplifting and fun that I can bury into with a cuppa tea. On Formspring, someone asked me who my favourite author is. Isn't it just lovely when someone wants to know something like that? Anyway, I replied by saying 'Sue Townsend because she wrote the wonderful Adrian Mole series. The Cappucino Years is my fave of the lot. Cracks me up every time! I have to read it with tea and fruit gums. Nice question, thanks:)' My other favourites are Mike Gayle and Bill Bryson. Thing is, I find I just reread their books instead of trying new ones. I must make more of an effort to ask people for recommendations. Ok, back to 'Under the Duvet.' Well, I should probably admit that a book really has to grab me with the first few lines. I know people say you must give music and books a chance to grow on ya but eh, I gotta be hooked straight away! Well, I've just read the first five pages of 'Under the Duvet' and I LOVE it so much I had to blog about it! The result of which is this very self-indulgent post about my reading habits. I just had to highlight these two bits for my digital scrapbook. ie: this blog

Haha! I've also been told that as a copywriter, I should carry a notebook but I never do. If I had to do a proper 'What's in my bag' post you'd be quite horrified. It's a pretty grim mess of till slips glued together by old restaurant mints. Delightful.

This little gem! One of my friends is writing a book and when she told me one of the characters was based on me, my immediate reaction was one of sheer terror. T, if you're reading this, I'm sure your book is awesome and I am very flattered but yes, I'm a wee bit scared.

Anyway, I better get back to actually reading the dang thing now. If you know of any other books, I might like, I'd be very grateful for your suggestions. I also wanted to say thank you for your lovely comments about my new boots and dress. It's so lovely that we can all swoon over clothes together. Have a lovely Thursday evening and we'll chat soon!

PS:  It just occurred to me that if you've never heard of this book, I actually haven't told you what it's about at all! How about I do so once I've read it? Alrighty, will do.
