Winter To-Do List and a Winner!

Hey guys! Happy Thursday! Aaaaand Happy December 1st! What?! I am pretty sure I just wrote the post about November 1st- yesterday... Who is speeding up time?! Seriously, stop it!

Well, since It's now December and "officially" Winter (I know it's not really official until Dec 21st or whatever. But I like to go by month.) I thought I'd share my Winter to-do list! Remember my Fall to-do list?? Pretty sure I accomplished everything on that list. :) So, I thought I'd keep up the good work and go for a Winter to-do list. ESPECIALLY since Winter is my least favorite season. It's too cold, lasts too long, and the snow?? Only OK until Valentines Day. So hopefully this list will help me enjoy the winter a little bit more.

Here we go...

1. Go Snowshoeing (I'm planning a trip that may kill me... wish me luck...)
2. Go Ice Skating (going Friday!)
3. Build a Snowman
4. Go enjoy the festivities Downtown
5. See the Nutcracker Ballet (taking my sister as part of her Christmas gift. We're a family of dancers and she's NEVER seen it! It's a crime, really.)
6. Attend a Holiday Party that I have to dress up fancy for
7. Take a Sleigh Ride (horse drawn- of course)
8. Make either Sugar Cookies, Ginger Bread Cookies, or a Ginger Bread House

Next- Rach from Family Ever After is hosting an Ugly Sweater Party on her blog. I couldn't resist entering this lovely gem.

And yes, those are bell earrings, yes I was that blonde, yes this picture is slightly awkward. What picture of an ugly Christmas sweater isn't though?

We also have another winner to announce! Thanks to all who entered the TJLundin&Co. giveaway! The winner iiiiiiissssss....

Memory (is that right?? I had to do some blog stalking to find it...) from her blog

Thrifty Stocking Stuffer: Vintage Buttons

And keeping with the button theme! You can often find vintage buttons for cheap at thrift stores.
When tied up with ribbon, they make such cute stocking stuffers. I can't sew for toffee but this is still the sort of thing I'd love to receive as buttons have a hundred uses. They're great for crafts, erm, sewing onto clothes, plus they just look cute in a jar.

Holiday Gift Guide: Big Big Earrings

At the Atlanta store we call them Love & Hip Hop Jewelry.  Larger than life earrings that are just wicked enough to turn into a weapon if you feel attacked.

But for the Sunny's Girls they are the cutest latest accessory that also makes a great gift for the fashionista in your life.

We just got in a new shipment of the fiercest accessory and they start at $18 & up.

Rolled Up Pretty Giveaway and Poshlocket Winner!

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED

Hey guys!
We have another AWESOME giveaway happening today! Whoop whoop! Today's giveaway comes from someone I not only consider a great bloggy friend, but also a great real life friend! Yep- we've met in real life. I am super lucky!

Meet Savannah from Rolled Up Pretty. She just opened up the PRETTIEST pillow shop on the block! The Etsy block that is.
(on Etsy)

"I have always loved pillows. I think they are the easiest and best way to brighten up any space. I started making pillows for myself about five years ago, and just recently decided to sell them. Unlike a lot of shops, my pillow prices include the cover AS WELL as the faux down pillow insert which is a very nice pillow that feels a lot like a real down feather pillow. This is a GREAT deal considering you get both the fun cover and the insert. I hope you like what you see and please don't hesitate to email me at savannah(at)rolleduppretty(dot)com if you have any questions. When I run out of pillows in my shop, I can still make more. Just contact me and let me know which one(s) you would like. Have a great day and happy shopping with the 25% off code.  I think these pillows would be a really fun Christmas present for a loved one!  Don't you?!  :)"

Thrifty Christmas Prezzie Idea: Jar of Buttons

I'm definitely one of those people for whom giving is the fun part of Christmas! I love finding the perfect prezzie for someone. This year however, my family and I are giving the gift of presence rather than presents. Last year they suggested that and I was like, 'Lame! Presents are awesome!' but owing to my skinty state this year, presence it is! Here's a cheap and cheerful idea I assembled for a certain friend - I'm sure you can all guess who this is for! I think glass jars are great because they're practical and can be used forever, and jars of things are well, always just plain fun! I decorated mine with some ribbon, a playing card and a Scrabble letter. A few more thrifty gift ideas to follow soon. x

PS: Thanks for your comments yesterday! I think a few of you may have been a bit horrified at me dismantling a board game. Never fear - I am anti-board game cruelty! Just used that old set as it had pieces missing and it was a bit poked but I am framing and cherishing the surviving street cards.

FTV HD on DISH NETWORK Launch Party

The Sunset Lounge at the Mondrian Hotel in Miami Beach was a great atmosphere for the FTV HD on DISH NETWORK Launch Party

Twelve years after first launching its global TV channel, Fashion TV has now launched a new channel in HD on the Dish Network. To commemorate this special occasion, Fashion TV celebrated last Friday at the Sunset Lounge at the Mondrian Hotel with the most glamorous party in town.

The VIP area was full of models and fashionistas and has never looked so glamorous! Four TV screens showed the new Fashion TV HD channel and guests were spoilt with gifts of FTV jewelry to take as a memento of an amazing evening. Promoters said that the Sunset Lounge was at full capacity and that the party was such a huge success that they will be joining Fashion TV again in October to organize another great party …. Everyone is looking forward to the next event and cannot wait to see what Fashion TV will do to impress the crowds next time!

Fashion TV in high definition is now available all over the USA only on Dish Network – channel 374.

Fashion TV is broadcast in 193 countries to 350 million households across the 5 continents. It is the leading 24 hour fashion, beauty and style television station worldwide based in Paris, France since 1997.

In the USA, Fashion TV is broadcast in Miami Beach via Atlantic broadband Cables and FTV HD is also available all over the USA in English in the Platinum HD package on DISH Network (Channel number 374) and in Spanish via the Dish LATINO Ultimate Pack (Channel number 5304).

Recent Treasures

Happy Tuesday everyone! First- I'm guest posting over at Classic & Bubbly today! I'd love for you to check it out. :)

As most of you noticed, I'm hosting a giveaway for Poshlocket. (didn't know? Enter HERE!) Well, they are so so wonderful and sent me some earrings. Guys, you would not believe the compliments I received when I wore these on Sunday! Everyone LOVED them, as do I! The quality is excellent and the detail is beautiful. (btw- it's hard taking pictures of your ears...)
Photobucket

They came in a cute little pink suede bag that not only looked beautiful but smelled nice too! haha! Basically, I am in love with Poshlocket.

For a while now I've admired the BEAUTIFUL pieces Lo makes for her shop Printed Peaks. I was finally able to place my own order and decided to make it a custom one. I am SO SO incredibly happy with my necklace! Every time I wear it people stop me to ask where I got it. :)

Plus Lo sends her pieces in the cutest little bag as well!

A little while ago my other bloggy friend Kaitlyn posted her new "deer" cards to her shop- isavirtue. I fell in love instantly and decided to make yet another custom order and have her print them on a natural paper for me. I am so in love with these! I ordered a set of five and am FOR SURE keeping one for myself. haha! And of course her packaging is always beautiful and handmade!

I think ANY or ALL 3 of these would make excellent gifts for someone this Christmas season. Not only are they all beautiful and unique but affordable as well! :D Let me know if you pick up any of them! We can be twinners! (Or I can be twinners with whoever you buy them for. haha!)
