The Suitcase... WMML Post #6!

Want to hear a HILARIOUS story? Well then gather around fellow bloggers, I've got a good one...

It all started when a friend of a friend (no worries, this is completely true) was short on cash. She was living in NYC and decided to take up dog walking. A family who was leaving on vacation called her up and asked her to watch their dog while they were gone. So after work she went over to their house (apartment?) and called the dog... no dog came... she called and called but finally found the dog... dead.

I know, I know. HILARIOUS story right? Well, I'm hardly finished...

She called the family to tell them the sad news and find out what they wanted her to do with the body. They told her there was no sense in keeping it around and to call the animal shelter. So she calls and they tell her to bring the dog to the shelter and they'll take care of it.

Well, this is no small dog. It's actually quite a large golden retriever, and this shelter is all the way across town... So she thinks and decides to put the dog in a suitcase to avoid rude stares. She gets down and onto the subway just fine, but when she arrives at her destination she realizes she's got to get her "package" up the stairs...

A nice man notices her struggling up the stairs and offers to help. While they struggle up the stairs he asks "What have you got in here??" She can't exaclty tell him what's REALLY in the suitcase... So she says "Oh, it's a bunch of computer parts for the company I work for". When they reach the top of the stairs she stops to take a breath... She looks up to thank the nice man and notices that he has TAKEN OFF with her suitcase!!! He thinks he's got a suitcase full of computer parts...

She doesn't know what else to say and so she yells "Oh, Ok... See Ya!! Thanks!" and goes home.

I can only IMAGINE what that guys face looked like when he opened up that suit case...

You MAY find that story disturbing... I find it incredibly funny. haha!

If you liked this story visit THIS blog. It is my friend and her roommates that post funny things that happen to them or others they know. They're awesome. :)

TLO

A little sneak peek at what we're working on in the TLO lingerie department! These as of yet unnamed pieces will, fingers crossed, be available later this month! We're also expanding our current collection's size run to include extra small and extra large and have tweaked some of the sizing to fit true to modern day sizing. Trial and error, this!

Landon's computer is in the shop and my computer screen is cracked so that only a third of the already rather small screen is visible which makes internetting beyond email a bit of an eyesore so forgive me if I'm a bit quiet for the next while (though I have been a bit more of a silent blog stalker lately for which I apologize, I realize it is way more fun to participate and am always appreciative of all the comments you leave behind).

Hope all is well! I promise (for real) this is the last lounging in undergarments post for a long while!

& a new 8 tracks mix for you.

Smitten Update

Photobucket

The paddock behind the Kloof SPCA.

Hai guys. I just wanted to give you a little update on Smitten. As it turns out, traveling to take pictures, snapping said pictures and then editing those bad boys takes a fair bit of time. Something which I seem to be lacking in lately! Aren't we all? So yeah, as much as I LOVE taking pictures, I've decided not to 'advertise' Smitten as such anymore. I will of course continue to snap for Gloss and lend a hand with snapping for friends' projects. Thank you to everyone who got in touch with me regarding pics! I really appreciate your support. Someone asked me if I was doing Smitten full time - nope, nope, I work full time in advertising and then I do a chunk of freelance writing every month. Doesn't leave much time for blogging and well, having a life! Which reminds me, my new motto is less blogging, more jogging! Can also be substituded for snogging. With that said, I maaaay have a fun editorial project lined up. Will keep ya posted if anything exciting develops. See ya next week x

Zac Posen fashion reviews

POSEN FOR AN AD: When Luis Venegas, publisher of the indie fashion magazine Fanzine137, offered Zac Posen a double spread to create his ideal ad, the designer jumped at the chance. He enrolled photographer Ellen von Unwerth, his stylist friend Christopher Niquet and model Alexandra Tomlinson for a day, and directed the shoot at his friend Lorraine Kirke’s house in December. “Once Ellen saw me singing Cole Porter, laying on top of Lorraine’s grand piano, she decided it had to be the spot for the picture,” Posen said.

The resulting visual — Posen’s first ad ever — appears in the spring-summer issue of the magazine, which features Lonnie Anderson on the cover and is available at such stores as Opening Ceremony and St. Mark’s Bookshop. Posen said his inspiration for the ad was a mix of Ava Gardner in the movie “The Barefoot Contessa” and classic Fifties Revlon advertising. In the shot, Tomlinson wears one of Posen’s spring leopard-kiss print powder pink dresses, and holds a cat.

“The hardest part was selecting the best image,” Posen said. “You want something that grabs the attention on the page and something that is simple…direct and cohesive. I wanted it to be pure and true to yourself and to your customer.” — Marc Karimzadeh

Tiny Dancers... WMML Post #5!

Have you seen this video?? Isn't it hilarious? I am so lucky because I get to be surrounded by things like this every week! Seriously, the little ones I teach NEVER fail to make me laugh at least once per class.

Examples: One day after class, a little girl decided she wanted to give me a hug. She'd already put her shoes on, but they were those slipper-like boots. So she starts to run to me with open arms and slips, tries to stand and slips again, and again and again. I finally got up and went to her. It was so funny!

I LOVE it when they know the words to all the songs we play and sing it loud and proud! All while admiring themselves in the mirror of course.

I love my job and am incredibly lucky. :)

Cruise Day 4- Jamaica

Happy Tuesday!! I have a busy day today. Work, a blonde appt., and then dinner with the in-laws. I'm just ready to get these nasty roots touched up. Anyway, on to the Jamaica pictures!

Off the boat and ready to have fun!

Seriously, one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to.

Chase and Gabe decided to join some European guys in a volleyball game

We headed to Margaritaville after the beach.

Chase loved our waiter!

So there you have day 4 in pictures! It was too much fun! We were absolutely exhausted after that day.
Have a fabulous day! :)
