The Best of 2011

I've seen some other bloggers doing this, and I wanted to join in the fun. :) I'm going to share your favorites from this here blog. The good, the weird, and the funny.

Top 5 Blog Posts:

1. Mason Jar Snow Globe Tutorial
This post won by a landslide. I'm not really sure what that means, but I'm sure that it doesn't even describe how much this post beat out ALL of my other ones. It's not even funny. haha! Jk, it is. :)

2. Winter To-Do List
Not sure why, but it's in second place (when you don't count all the giveaway posts)

3. Successes and Failures of Pinterest
This was a fun post. I've been meaning to do it again, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. All in good time. :)

4. Hair Do?
This either means you guys really like my new hair... or... No, we'll go with you really liked it. :)

This was also a fun post that I plan on doing again. :)

Top (or most funny) Key Word Searches:

1. DIY Mason Jar Snow Globes
told you that won by a landslide.

2. Tom Hanks Sparkle Time
Oh boy! I'm so excited, because this gives me another excuse to share this video (for the 3rd time this year)!! It's so great. :)

3. Alexa Chung Hair
That would be from when I cut my hair at the beginning of this year. She was my inspiration.

4. Arizona
That would be from THIS post. It's weird that that silly little post would bring such traffic.

THE REST OF THESE WERE JUST FUNNY TO ME. ALL THE OTHER "TOP" SEARCHES WERE BORING.

5. "Believe your hair""So Long""Looks Great"
What does that mean?!

6. Am a real redhead with lots of freckles
No, I'm not.

7. Bike Chain Embroidery Throws
Not sure what those are, but I'm thinking biker gangs??

8. Freckles of the Week
I should start a series about people's freckles. I'm sure that'd be a big hit.

9. I am here for my future
Welcome... Hope I can help?

10. I am working oh so hard
Good for you!

11. Why did we lose ancient?
Ancient what?? I don't know why we lost... ancient. I hope you find... it...

Awesome. :) Happy New Years Eve everyone! Be safe and have a great time ringing in the New(and last?!)Year!!
I'll talk to you NEXT year! teehee!

This Weeks Loves

First- I am guest posting over at Roots Wings and Other Things today sharing one of my favorite makeup looks! Take a peek!

Happy Friday everyone! I have had many "I LOVE THAT!" moments this week. here are a few of them:

1. A Theater in SLC is one of 3 in the world (the other two being in LA and NY) to receive actual costumes from the new movie- Breaking Dawn. When I heard that yesterday morning I knew I'd be making a stop on my way home from work to see these babies! (I'm a fangirl sometimes)
2. My sister's kitty- Rue. He's hilarious. As most cats are.
3. I FINALLY got my hands on a copy of Crossed! So excited to start reading!

Found this in the Nordstrom catalog that came in the mail yesterday. I may need them (or one of them of course- the other would go to one of my BFF's!).

This says if you bake marbles at 350 for 20 min. then drop in ice water this is what you get... SERIOUSLY?! SO trying this!

HILARIOUS!

And just in case you missed them on yesterday's post- Here are some of Anthropologie's new ECards! I'm in love!

OH! And you get TWO chances to make EPIC wishes today! Make sure they're good ones! :D

P.S. Don't forget to enter this week's giveaway! It's a good one and is for a great cause!

The Oak Tree
by Johnny Ray Ryder Jr.

A mighty wind blew night and day.
It stole the Oak Tree's leaves away.
Then snapped its boughs
and pulled its bark
until the Oak was tired and stark.

But still the Oak Tree held its ground
while other trees fell all around.
The weary wind gave up and spoke,
"How can you still be standing Oak?"

The Oak Tree said, I know that you
can break each branch of mine in two,
carry every leaf away,
shake my limbs and make me sway.

But I have roots stretched in the earth,
growing stronger since my birth.
You'll never touch them, for you see
they are the deepest part of me.

Until today, I wasn't sure
of just how much I could endure.
But now I've found with thanks to you,
I'm stronger than I ever knew.

The Mysterious Black Eyes...

I woke up this morning to find myself with some black eyes... Where they came from?? I don't know. Did I punch myself in my sleep? Bug bites (I hope not!)? Something else?

One eye had a very large lump which went down after some icing. The other eye was very dark and has what appears to be a popped blood vessel next to it (luckily it's small... knock on wood).

*note* This is the best picture I could get of them. It just wasn't showing up on film. AND my nose is the closest thing to the camera... so it's huge...

I can now relate to Michelle...

Any suggestions as to what happened?

Silliness and Birthdays

This girl had a birthday yesterday...
Photobucket

My little niece is growing up. I can hardly believe how old and mature she is already. She's also THE smartest person I know. Seriously- the girl's a genius. Walking encyclopedia as my mom likes to call her.

We celebrated with a trip to the house of bounce (big room with lots of bounce houses), lots of balloons tied to her chair, her favorite dinner- pastaroni (I don't even know how to spell that. Can't believe that's her favorite. haha!), FUNFETTI cake- which fell apart before I even got a picture, and presents.
Photobucket

We kept the partying low key since last year we went ALL OUT! CLICK HERE to see what I mean...

The other night it was just the kids and I while my sister and bil where out buying the birthday present (a new bike!). So of course we had some fun with the camera!

Have you ever taken pictures where you shake your head really hard letting your cheeks flop around as much as they can?? If not, you should. The outcome is HILARIOUS! Here's how my nieces did:

I love this picture! They had to take a break because they were laughing too hard. :)

They were laughing so hard! We had such a great time! This works better for older people with floppier cheeks than little kids have. haha! But they still gave it their all and were laughing so hard!

Travel Time

Well, I made it to Alaska! Safe and sound, no real problems (wheeewww).
Photobucket

1. Waiting in Long Beach California on my layover
2. Sitting under the pay phone (guess those still exist) because it was the only place with an outlet
3. A whole row all to myself! I was able to spread out and go to sleep
4. Guess what snack I received on the plane! Animal Crackers! hahaha! Too perfect.

And a couple of texts I sent to my family while waiting. Yes I'm hilarious. (FYI we had a maltese named Pixie until last summer when she passed away- if you read the texts below this will make sense)

Photobucket

I'm going to get to as many of your blogs as possible today! But I'm sorry if I'm not as present as normal for a little while. :)

Finale... WMML Post #30!!

First: My sisters cat is CAARAAAZY! She keeps us laughing. So enjoy this video of her, as it is the last post of What Made Me Laugh month! hopefuly it'll make you laugh. :)

Now... onto more serious business. Ok, not that serious.

So, remember how at the beginning of the year I announced I would have a theme for each month for a year and I'd post around that theme every day? Well, I need at least a month break... So, for the month of May I will be posting every day about whatever I want! I'm bored with my challenge, it's become more of a chore than a challenge, which it shouldn't be! I love blogging!

Hooray for "Do What You Want" May. Ok, no theme...

And that surprise is still coming. Promise. Hang tight.

Taken... WMML Post #29!

Today, I received a terrible letter... take a look for yourself...

What are we going to do?!?!

Ok... so I may or may not have made that letter myself and blamed poor Winter. But I feel like that is what has happened! Spring... where are you???

Up-Side: My new boots are getting plenty of use!

I Got Some Dreams... WMML Post #28!

I read on The Swede Records the other day about this app called "Sleep Analyzer". You set the decible level and it records any noise over that level. So in the morning you can see what great things you said in your sleep, if you snore (or how loudly), or even how much you move. Because it has a decible level set it doesn't record for the entire night, it just records the noises loud enough to reach that level.

ANYWAYS, it is fantastic! It seriously works. Tried it last night. Although the best thing it caught was me mummbling something, but I couldn't tell what. I'm pretty sure I talk in my sleep so I am going to record again tonight and see what I can catch. You should try it!

Speaking of sleeping and dreams, I had a dream the other night and the next day, IT CAME TRUE! Seriously. Because I remember thinking about it when I woke up and saying, ya, probably won't happen. But then it DID! Made me happy.

And then I thought of this clip from "Tangled" and laughed because it's pretty much the best thing ever!

P.S. About the surprise... It's still in the works. I promise it's coming. Not sure when.

Dragons and Music... WMML Post #27!

So today I didn't laugh too much- sad, I know. Except when I was reminded of this video by Alexis over at A Beautiful Day to be Alive.

But something that you all really should check out would be Lenka's new album. I am a BIG fan of her first album and LOOOVE this one as well!! Here's her first Music Video from the album. ENJOY! (I've had it on repeat)

P.S. Wouldn't it be great if hospital gowns looked like hers?
