Happy Halloween!

enhanced-buzz-8238-1256932700-0
I've had a very important visitor staying with me this week and have, as a result, not had much time to spend online poking around the blog world. I promise to be back soon starting with an introduction to my beloved guest later today. In the meantime check out this site for a peek at frightening costumes of Halloweens past. Have a scary and tiny chocolate bar-filled night!

Looks we Love: Toni Braxton ... So Yesterday

OMG!!!!

We love it Toni! We love it!

Radiant at our Atlanta location just made a custom wig for a celebrity Sunny's Girl... so we were thrilled to see Toni Braxton rocking a similar style on her latest video for So Yesterday.

If you are looking for your own custom wig come to Sunny's to discuss your options!

Plus we love how her set is an ode to Hollywood Regency style that inspired our Sunny's Cash Wrap.

Utah To Mazatlan...And Back Again

And We're OFF!!!
Goodbye
Utah
We started off around 7, ate in cedar city with kenna then spent the night with my aunt DeAnn in St. George. (THANK YOU!!)
We were off early the next day to Las Vegas!
Here we are outside the venetian. It was beautiful. The day started out Great! We had lots of energy and it was exciting! I even got asked out to dinner by a guy who followed us for a second calling me "Little Cuteness" over and over. As you would have guessed, that is my new nickname.
Unfortunately... I'm never going back to vegas...or not so unfortunately. I was so sick that by the end of the day I was completely drained and the pictures of me from 3 o'clock on are so sad. Plus vegas gets worse and worse all the time. So sad, but that was my last trip there.

It was time for happier times! We left vegas around 5 to drive to cali, where we spent the next two nights with Mindy's sister (Thank You!!). LUCKILY the next morning I was feeling SO much better and ready for...
DISNEYLAND!

This day was SO much fun! It's been WAY too long since I've been. It was so great to be back. :) Plus! It was halloween time! Best time of the year at Disney Parks.

I was ascared of the haunted mansion... :(

We pretty much
WALKED ON SPLASH MOUNTAIN TWICE IN A ROW!!
NO JOKE.
That's pretty much unheard of! I ended up being in the front both times...and i've never come off that ride more soaked than this time...take a look, obviously the picture does not do it justice:

TOWER OF TERROR!!
Best ride ever!!

Fantasyland with no guests walking around (thanks to the fireworks). So wonderful!
I LOVE DISNEY!
Mikelle excavating!

Renee and Jenn were scared of the Indiana Jones ride. :(

Well, that's all the pictures I felt like posting from our trip to disneyland. It was now time to leave America...
And enter Mazatlan, Mexico!

The city during the day...

Our cab(pnuemonia...spelling?) driver havier took us grocier shopping. He was such a nice guy.

Our living room...

Half of our balcony...yes, that's a hot tub.

Looking off into the horizon from our balcony. We were so lucky they upgraded us!!

first sunset....no joke, they get better!!

Us at a fancy dinner on the beach at our hotel. :) i learned you don't order american food...anywhere but america.

2nd sunset! Gorgeous!

Our favorite pool where we spent most of our time. We had 5 to choose from...not to brag or anything...
3rd sunset!! Breathtaking

The girls went parasailing! This is a picture of Mindy.

Tropical Flowers

Our room is all the way on the right second from the top!

Other pool. It had a waterslide!!

Our last dinner in Mazatlan in our dining room. :( If we weren't at the pool we were mostly in our room being lazy. It was great.

Last sunset...my favorite.

The city at night.

On our way to checkout. The elevator was quite full.

In the airport. We're real senioritas now!

Traveling home.

This is Renee's prize from one of those chocolate eggs. I just love Mikelle and my face in the background. haha!

Well that was it for mexico. It was back to America. yay!!
I LOVE AMERICA!!
We had a couple days before it was time to head home. So we spent it in Cali with Renee's family this time. (Thank You!!!)
It was a relaxing couple of days. Wouldn't this be a GREAT place to live?? Your own private lake! People had waterslides into the water from their backyards! While admiring the homes we were trying to feed the ducks...but they were unresponsive. Guess their not used to people feeding them.

After a couple days in Cali, it was time to head home. So we packed back up in my car and started off.
Here's Jenn saying goodbye vacation!!

And Renee saying: AH!!! That guy was Crazy!! What was he thinking??

And Mikelle saying: What a great trip!! I'm so glad we went!

There you have it. :) A small recap of our trip. There are more pictures and some I havn't seen yet. So if there are anymore worth posting I'll post them. You should all take a trip to Mazatlan. It's wonderful!

Looks we Love: Naomi Campbell by Michael Kors

Francois Nars the legendary makeup artist and founder of NARS Cosmetics, releases his book of celebrity portraits to celebrate the 15 year anniversary of his cosmetics company.

While Naomi is such an a amazing palatte if you wanted to recreate her look this is the Sunny's Girl recommendations:

1. Purchase Bohyme Egyptian Wave in 14" and 18" in Color # 2

2. Have your stylist sew in a full head of extensions and razor in blunt bangs and soft face framing layers. The 14" package of Bohyme Egyptian Wave should be used on top to create natural layers and the 18" should be used at the nape of the neck to create the length.

3. Wash hair with Ever Pure by Loreal and then allow the hair to dry with a diffuser to control the soft natural wave of the hair.

4. Line your eyes with a soft kohl eyeliner in a dark brown shade and add plum and neutral eye shadows in the crease of lid. Finish off the eye with black mascara:  a personal staff fave is Dior Show Blackout in Black 099

5. Dust the cheeks with Taj Mahal by NARS to deliver a soft accent to your cheekbones.

6. Channel your innermost diva!

Looks we Love: Melanie Fiona

The song It Kills Me by Melanie Fiona was playing in our store the other day and we liked what we heard so much that we decided to look her up online. She is a look we love!!!

We're sure we've stumbled upon someone to look out for.

To recreate Melanie's long feminine locks we recommend Natural Wave Indian Hair in 22". We'd blow dry the hair until is 90% dry and then spray a lightweight hairspray on 1" sections of the hair and wrap it on the outside of the barrel of a 1 1/2" curling iron. Allow the curls to cool and then brush out with a wide paddle brush to diffuse movement into the hair style.

Runway to Realway? Blade Runner Inspired Bangs

We're definitely a fan of the heavy bang but Louise Goldin debuted her entire Fall 2009 line featuring models with Blade Runner inspired heavy bangs.

We're not cosigning this as a look we love. But maybe it's runway to reality interpretation will be a look we love.

Your Thoughts?

she's a dream come true

i have a treat for you friends today! despite accusations of being both "lazy" and "lame" for not updating (or responding to emails) both of which i vehemently deny on account that i am neither lazy for not updating (internet is my lazy time) nor am i physically impaired at this time (unless of course you are considering my bad toe) i am still sharing with you my very favourite jewel of the fashion blog world.

Blog, meet Nicole Eymard! I've been following her for quite some time online and am delighted at every update she makes. Here she shares with us some of her inspiration for her upcoming collection and a brief history lesson. This lady knows the way to my heart is paved in vintage hats and history lessons.

What was your first sewing project? Do you still have it?
My first hand sewn project was this little red doll with a flat head that I made out of my moms scraps. The poor doll was tortured because I stitched her dress to her body. I don't have it because it was a gift I made for my sister when I was 7. The first machine project was a terrifying felt panda...lets not even talk about that!!

Favourite pre-20th century fashion moment?
1790-1802 I know this is a long period of time, but they bounce off eachother, one part is the cause and the other effect.

At the end of of Marie Antoinette's life 1790, "the people" were revolting against everything, for example fashion and the political powers. The colors they wore and prints all signifies who they were for in politics. The "Sans Culottes" wore old and country clothing with the with France's colors and stripes and the "Incroyables" (men) and the "Merveilleuses" (women) wore ridiculous proportions , such as giant hats for the men and for the women they wetted their dresses with water to make their garments see through to see the flesh colored knit undergarments. Sans cullote means without pants and Incroyables means the incredibles.

After Marie Antoinette's beheading, and people setteled down. Napoleon attempted to put things back together by looking at ancient Greece, and creating an empire. So everyone dressed like their portrayal of the classical statues.

Favourite 20th century fashion moment?
But most importantly the relationship she had with all the cool artists of the time. I love how all the cool artist were pals and genuinely "collaborated"
