Some Favorites

Lately I've had a lot of clothing/ accessory items that I've been snapping pictures of (on my phone of course, I need to be better about using my camera, but my phone is so much easier and it isn't a battery hog). So I thought it'd be fun to give you guys a peek into my wardrobe.
PhotobucketPhotobucket

1. That's what I wore to an ugly sweater party the other night. Awesome sweater and a vintage necklace that used to be my grandma's. :)
2. My MK Rose Gold watch... Mmmmmmmm. I can't even describe my love for this watch!
3. The scarf I received from my Secret Santa. And yes, I'm quite aware that my bangs need a trim... desperately.
4. My new Fossil bag c/o my sister. :) It was just what I wanted for Christmas.
5. Rust colored tights, sparkly heels, and a pretty chiffon pleated skirt. Busy Bee Lauren Instagramed a pic of her rust colored tights and sparkly gold oxfords she was wearing on Sunday and I happened to be wearing a very similar combo, so I had to share. :)
6. Pretty mint earrings also c/o my sister and my mint green Christmas PJ's. :)

So there you go, a little peek into my wardrobe. :) OH! And this incredible sunset took my breath away the other night...

Happy Tuesday!

P.S. BACHELOR! Did anyone watch it?!

Recent Treasures

Happy Tuesday everyone! First- I'm guest posting over at Classic & Bubbly today! I'd love for you to check it out. :)

As most of you noticed, I'm hosting a giveaway for Poshlocket. (didn't know? Enter HERE!) Well, they are so so wonderful and sent me some earrings. Guys, you would not believe the compliments I received when I wore these on Sunday! Everyone LOVED them, as do I! The quality is excellent and the detail is beautiful. (btw- it's hard taking pictures of your ears...)
Photobucket

They came in a cute little pink suede bag that not only looked beautiful but smelled nice too! haha! Basically, I am in love with Poshlocket.

For a while now I've admired the BEAUTIFUL pieces Lo makes for her shop Printed Peaks. I was finally able to place my own order and decided to make it a custom one. I am SO SO incredibly happy with my necklace! Every time I wear it people stop me to ask where I got it. :)

Plus Lo sends her pieces in the cutest little bag as well!

A little while ago my other bloggy friend Kaitlyn posted her new "deer" cards to her shop- isavirtue. I fell in love instantly and decided to make yet another custom order and have her print them on a natural paper for me. I am so in love with these! I ordered a set of five and am FOR SURE keeping one for myself. haha! And of course her packaging is always beautiful and handmade!

I think ANY or ALL 3 of these would make excellent gifts for someone this Christmas season. Not only are they all beautiful and unique but affordable as well! :D Let me know if you pick up any of them! We can be twinners! (Or I can be twinners with whoever you buy them for. haha!)

If you want some fun things to do:

Feathers and Flowers

Happy Tuesday everyone. Today I'm going to share with you a product from one of my sponsors- Courtney who blogs over at Lil Noodle Bug. She's got a wonderful Etsy shop where she sells handmade accessories and decor. She was so sweet and sent me this mustard flower and I couldn't wait to wear it! I made sure that my outfit on Sunday would match.

Not only is this flower beautiful, but it's excellent quality.
*note* eyes watering + flushed face= it was cold!
Photobucket

Plus, there are also SO many ways to wear it! I wore it clipped on my belt to church, but I will also be wearing it in my hair, pinned as a brooch, or even clipped onto my purse! I would definitely recommend this to all of you! She also takes custom orders!
Photobucket

A few of you asked to see a full shot of my skirt that I showed only a piece of the other day. Well, this is for you. I can't believe I am doing somewhat of an outfit post on my own blog. Yikes... haha!

Photobucket

I am absolutely in love with this skirt! I'm so glad I snatched it up when I had the chance because they are all sold out now! Whew! The print is stunning and so colorful!
*note* this skirt was originally almost $400!! WHAT?! Yup. I DID NOT pay that. haha!

Photobucket

Sorry for the quality of the pictures. That's what happens when there's no one around who will (or is willing) to take pictures for you, it's freezing and you need to hurry, and you don't have a tripod or photoshop. *shrugs shoulders*

Oh! And Courtney (lil noodle bug) is helping to head a charity called ThanksUSA. It serves a crucial purpose by assisting family members of military personnel who risk their lives for the USA. A few bloggers and businesses have donated items for auction to raise money for ThanksUSA. Please check it out and see if there's anything you'd like to bid on or purchase! It's a great way to help give back to those who serve us everyday. (you can also donate directly by using the widget on my left sidebar.

DIY: Make your own belt!

This post is brought to you from a sleepy haze in Bedfordshire! Aka, my bed. Cheers for that gem Bridget Jones. So this is the DIY I mentioned to you the other day. Nadia kindly showed me how to make this here belt and now you can make one too if ya fancy. Thank you Nads! I borrowed Nads' belt like this for a fashiony do and I thought the belt was just genius as you can make it to fit you exactly, and you can adorn it as you wish. Plus it gives black skirts a swish border and any outfit a vintage-inspired twist! I hope the steps below are self-explanatory?! Sorry the pics aren't the best - was having an off day with the light. If you have any questions - please feel free to fire away. x

You will need:
Elastic, Velcro, Black Thread, Buttons, Sewing Scissors, Pins, Needle, Craft Glue or Glue Gun
A special thanks to Nads for modelling and making this!

I'll try to incorporate it into an outfit photo soon so you can see the effect.
Looks a bit erm, flat on the table!

Edit: Just remembered we accidentally sewed the one piece of velcro on the the wrong side of the elastic so I'm not sure if our folds above are correct! Haha! Can't offer any helpful advice except to say make sure you sew your velcro in such a way so you can stick it together. Poor Nads had to unpick the one side and start over but you must know we were distracted by Big and Carrie dramz in SATC while making this!

Bipolar Weather = Bipolar Me...

*SIGH*
(I literally just sighed... that's why I typed it...)

It is cold, there is snow, and there is only one thing keeping me happy. The fact that I can bundle up...

1. Full outfit (Poncho)
2. Yes, slippers
3. My gloves I bought in Alaska that are from the Himalayas

I guess SOME of the scenery hasn't been that bad. But this snow is messing with my head. I keep changing from being really grumpy- to singing Christmas songs- to being grumpy that I'm singing Christmas songs already- then back to grumpy in general. The weather man says it's supposed to warm up and dry out again next week... and boy am I hoping that's true!!

How's the weather where you are??

LUCKILY
I will be spending this evening meeting some of my BBFF's (Best Blogging Friends Forever) at THE cutest boutique ever. :) YAY! I'm super excited and can't wait to tell you aaaaaalllll about it!
:)

Happy Friday everyone!
(as long as it's not snowing...)

If you want to pretend you're partying with me too, you can read my guest posts from this last week. :)

OR if you're sick of me you can read this very interesting post from my sister's blog:

Scenes From the Weekend...

Last week I received this gorgeous necklace from Heart and Soul Pieces (see her blog HERE). I was so excited to wear it! I know these pictures are blurry. I wasn't doing too well in the photo taking department. Plus my camera's batteries are dead (it takes regular non-rechargeable batteries, lame.), so I had to use my phone. But you can still see how beautiful this necklace is. I highly suggest you all check out her shop and blog!

It even came in the cutest packaging! Opening mail is even more fun when it comes in pretty wrapping. :) I even placed the chain of the necklace in the shape of a heart for the photo (heart and soul pieces) get it? Huh?? haha! I'm lame, I know...

I also spent a few days hiking the hills around my house. The first picture is the morning sun coming down the canyon, it was so beautiful. I can't get enough of the mountains. The second picture are the sunflowers that are growing all over the hillsides. And the third picture was the view of the sunset from the hilltop.

I was also lucky enough to listen to a meeting for the women in my church. If you have some time to spare, I'd love if you listened to this talk. Wow. It was amazing and something we all need to hear, whether you're part of my religion or not. :) If you'd rather read about it, you can find that HERE.

Welcome Fall

Well, as much as I wish I could rewind the last few months and do them all over again (because they were wonderful, and it makes me sad that Summer is over), I can't help but welcome Fall with open arms. My favorite Season has come again and like most of you, for me the most exciting part would be the fashion. Here's my Fall wishlist... It's long.

I love being able to carry my maxi's over season to season simply by pairing them with different things.

I'm all about the cozy outfits. The hat I ordered a few days ago SHOULD fit like this one. If not, I'll be really sad.

My wish lists are full of cozy knit sweaters.

With fall comes the chance to accessorize more. I'm in love with these scarves.

Pretty sure this girl is more fashionable than most adults... Anyways, I MUST have that hat.

Another favorite cold weather accessory of mine? Cozy socks. Especially peaking over the top of some awesome boots.

I've been on the HUNT for the perfect pair of loose fitting boots (this hunt has been going for a few years...) I've yet to find the perfect pair in my size and price range. Who knew boot shopping would be so hard?

I love this version of the combat boot. It feels more hiker than combat.

And heeled oxfords are my go to heel for fall.

Of course I would GLADLY take these any day.

Last but not least, I'm so excited to swap my barely there makeup routine (or really, non-existent) for a more glamorous one. I miss my red lipstick!

There you have it! I gave in and shared my top Fall craves. :) What are you craving for this Fall?

Knotty Trends

There's some knotty fashion going around. I LOVE it! I can't get enough of it!

We're knotting our skirts!

I took inspiration from this picture today and knotted my maxi dress. Perfection. If you've noticed, we're also knotting our belts!

We're knotting our shirts. If you've seen me lately you'd know I'm OBSESSED with this. I love knotting my blouses.

I love this version (on the left) of the knotted shirt. I hadn't thought of trying that. Now I will for sure!

We're even knotting our hair!

LOVE this one! I need to try it ASAP!

Have you noticed any other Knotty trends?
